Terms
Terms of Use
Video to Notes is operated by the provider named in the Legal Notice (Impressum) ("we"). These terms govern the service where validly incorporated into our agreement with you. Mandatory legal rights take precedence.
The Service
Video to Notes creates AI transcripts and notes from selected videos or available YouTube transcripts. Video files are read and audio is extracted in your browser; hosted processing sends compressed audio or transcripts to AI providers. Utility tools, such as conversion and trimming, process files locally. Some functions require sign-in or prepaid hours. The service is intended for people aged 18 or over.
Accounts
Protect your sign-in credentials and tell us if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for misuse attributable to you, subject to applicable law. Usage limits may apply per device or account.
Plans
Available modes include a no-cost allowance, hosted PRO processing and the extension's mode using your own Groq API key. Provider charges and limits may apply to your Groq account. Trial allowances have the limits shown in the product and do not turn into paid subscriptions.
We may adapt unpaid features for technical, security or legal reasons. Changes to purchased services remain subject to statutory requirements, including any required valid reason, notice and termination rights. Purchased hours and mandatory consumer rights are unaffected by a general change of plans.
Purchases & Billing
PRO hour packs are one-time purchases at the total price shown at checkout, including applicable taxes. Hours are credited to your account and consumed as you transcribe, oldest pack first. Hours do not expire. There is no subscription or automatic renewal.
Lemon Squeezy is the Merchant of Record. The seller and purchase terms are identified at checkout and on your receipt; see the buyer terms. Our terms govern our provision of the service where validly agreed and do not override mandatory rights against the seller.
Refunds & Right of Withdrawal
- Consumers in the EU/EEA and UK normally have 14 days from conclusion of the purchase contract to withdraw without giving reasons. The period is subject to the required withdrawal information and any statutory extension.
- Starting to use hours does not by itself waive withdrawal rights. For a paid service, early expiry requires full performance and satisfaction of the statutory requirements, including prior express consent to early performance and acknowledgment of the resulting loss of the right. A deduction for partial performance is permitted only where the law allows it, including the required express request and information.
- Outside statutory rights, refunds of unused hours are discretionary. This does not limit rights for defective or undelivered services, or other mandatory refund rights.
- Use the seller's withdrawal instructions and contact details supplied with your purchase. A clear withdrawal statement is sufficient; an order number helps identify the purchase but is not a condition for exercising the right. Eligible refunds are processed by the seller to the original payment method, subject to applicable law.

Acceptable Use
- do not use the service for unlawful purposes or to infringe others' rights
- do not attempt to overload, disrupt, scrape at scale, or circumvent usage limits or security controls
- only upload videos or audio you have the right to process
- respect the rights of content owners and the terms of the platforms the content comes from
Third-Party Content and Services
Google Gemini processes hosted requests; Groq processes requests made with your own key; Lemon Squeezy handles purchases. Your own Groq account and purchases are subject to the relevant provider agreements. We remain responsible for our contractual obligations when using service providers.
AI Output Disclaimer
AI-generated notes can be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading. Do not rely on the output for any important, legal, medical, financial, or safety-related decision without independently verifying it against the source video.
Intellectual Property
Video to Notes does not claim ownership of the videos you upload or the transcripts and notes generated from them. Generated notes are provided for your own use; you are responsible for how you use them and for any rights in the underlying content.
Availability & Warranty
We work to keep the service available, but as an online service it can be interrupted by maintenance, faults, outages of the third-party providers listed above, or events beyond our control. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, and we do not promise that a transcript or notes can be produced for every video. Where you have paid for the service, your statutory warranty rights for digital services apply; free features are provided without any warranty beyond what mandatory law provides.
Liability
We are liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, for injury to life, body, or health, under the German Product Liability Act (Produkthaftungsgesetz), and under any guarantee we have expressly given.
Subject to the unlimited liability above and other mandatory liability, in cases of simple negligence we are liable only for the breach of essential contractual obligations — obligations whose fulfilment makes the proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on whose fulfilment you may regularly rely — and only up to the damage that is typical for this type of contract and foreseeable when the contract was made. Any further liability is excluded. This also applies in favour of our agents and subcontractors.
Suspension & Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the service if you seriously or repeatedly violate these terms (in particular the Acceptable Use rules) or where required for legal or security reasons; where reasonable, we will warn you first. If we permanently discontinue the hosted PRO service, we will refund the value of your unused hours. Your statutory rights remain unaffected.
Changes to these Terms
Updates apply to future contracts once validly agreed. Changes to an existing contract require a valid legal basis or your agreement where required; continued use alone does not constitute that agreement. Mandatory notice and termination rights remain unaffected.
Governing Law & Disputes
These terms are governed by German law, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you habitually reside.
We are not willing or obliged to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board (Verbraucherschlichtungsstelle).
