Meeting recording → notes

Get meeting notes from video — decisions, action items, and a summary.

For team leads, project managers, and anyone who would rather read the outcome than rewatch the call.

Get meeting notes from video in three steps: drop a meeting recording — MP4, MOV, WebM, or MKV — and Video to Notes works as an AI note taker for the video, transcribing it and converting it into a video-to-text summary — the key decisions, action items, key points, and a timeline you can download as Markdown or plain text. The audio is extracted in your browser and only the audio is sent for transcription; the original meeting video never leaves your device.

How it works

Three steps from a meeting recording to notes.

01

Add your recording

Drag in a meeting recording — MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, MP3, or M4A, including a Zoom, Teams, or Meet export. The file is read locally; nothing is uploaded yet.

02

Transcribe and summarize

We extract the audio in your browser, transcribe the meeting to text, then use AI to pull out a summary, the key decisions, action items, and any key terms worth keeping.

03

Share, copy, or download

Review the meeting notes on the page, copy them into your wiki or ticket, or download the notes as Markdown and the full transcript as a text file.

Why use it

Walk out of every meeting with a record.

Capture the decisions and action items without scribbling during the call.

Hand teammates who missed the meeting a summary plus a timeline to jump to the part they need.

Keep the transcript and meeting notes as files you own — paste them into your notes, ticket, or doc.

Uploaded video clips are handled here; for a longer meeting or a YouTube link you can turn the video into notes with the Chrome extension.

More note types

FAQ

Meeting notes questions

How do I get meeting notes from a video recording?

Drop your meeting recording onto the box at the top of this page or choose a file. The audio is extracted in your browser and transcribed, then AI writes meeting notes — a summary, key decisions, action items, key terms, and a timeline — that you can read on the page or download as Markdown or plain text.

Does it label who said what?

No. The transcript is continuous text rather than a per-speaker script, and the notes do not attribute decisions or action items to named people. When you need to know who said something, the timeline points at the moment it was said so you can check that part of the recording.

Can I transcribe a Zoom, Teams, or Meet meeting recording?

Yes. Common meeting recordings work — MP4, MOV, WebM, and MKV, plus audio files like MP3 and M4A — including exports from Zoom, Teams, or Meet. The website transcribes an uploaded recording; for a longer meeting or a YouTube link, the Chrome extension makes notes from longer videos right in your browser.

What is in the AI meeting notes?

You get the full transcript plus AI meeting notes: a concise summary, the key points and decisions, action items, key terms worth remembering, and a timeline so you can jump to the moment something was discussed. Download the notes as Markdown (.md) and the transcript as plain text (.txt), or copy them.

Is my meeting recording uploaded to a server?

The original video stays in your browser. We extract a small compressed audio track locally and send only that audio to generate the transcript and meeting notes — the original meeting video file is never uploaded.

How long a meeting can I do at once?

A single recording can be up to an hour long, and the site covers about an hour of audio per device in total — so one long meeting will use most of that allowance. For recurring meetings or anything longer, the Chrome extension keeps working in your browser.
